On two occasions, Brighton allow opposition goals only to annul shortfall. But at finality, trials just futility.
Visitors swiftly and skillfully start with goal via Barnard's noggin; but soon, Fozza - by contrast, via long ball - finds uniformity of tally for Brighton. Alas, soon again, from nook kick, poor play at 27' allows O'Donovan to prod in. 40', and much as with his prior act, canny cashing in by Brighton's old hand 9 from hub-bypassing ball and again, no disparity of goals.
And so half two. For Brighton: opportunity, opportunity again, and a hat-trick goal?! Alas, no. Rightfully, official disallows. All half, play of Albion just past quality of opposition, but without satisfactory skill to wind up in front. Frustration in crowd, naturally.
And so with arrival of additional duration - visitor's sub has rapidity past sloppy Brighton back. Ball past Dutchman, into goal.
A mugging.
